Bathgate needed a win to ensure a place in the League Cup semi finals but a draw would see Camelon go through.
Bathgate started well and should have taken the lead in the ninth minute when, following a long clearance from keeper Carlin,
McGrillen's first time shot was well saved by Hutchison. Both teams had chances to open the scoring but chances were squandered
keeping the score level. McKenna caused the visiting fans an anxious moment when, a minute from half time he fired his
shot into the side netting with only Carlin to beat. McGrillen for Bathgate and Donnelly and Cringean were shown yellow cards
for minor infringements.

Everyone hoped for a more exciting second forty five minutes but it planned out similar to the first forty
five with no team taking overall charge. Both goalkeepers had saves to make with Carlin saving from Jeffrey at one end and
then Hutchison saving from McPhee at the other. Two minutes later McGrillen had a great chance to open the scoring but
he directed his header over the crossbar. Cunningham was shown a yellow card in the sixty ninth minute. Eight minutes from
time Chris Donnelly was shown a second yellow and he took no further part in the game. In the final minute of the game Batchelor
broke through the Thistle defence but his shot was well blocked by keeper Carlin. Referee Ross finished off a busy evening
when he added Easton and Batchelor to his list of offenders. The game finished goalless which allowed Camelon to progress
to a semi final tie against Linlithgow Rose.
